What is Asia Weekly?
Asia Weekly is a weekly magazine that presents the major news and opinions in a unique, executive summary style format. We offer readers an analysis of the previous week's events, gathered by viewing hundreds of sources, including newspapers, magazines and websites. The summary-style reader-friendly format is modeled on the sort of briefings world leaders receive every day; the aim is to bring the reader quickly up to date on all the major news.
Our international team of journalists sifts through the daily flood of news and information written about Asia. From politics, business, finance, film, food and literature to travel, sports, health and weather, Asia Weekly covers it all. We are the only magazine in Asia that does this.
Asia Weekly focuses on news from what part of Asia?
Asia Weekly focuses on North, East and Southeast Asia. We trawl through media all the way from Mongolia, China, Japan and Korea to Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia, covering everything in between, from elections in Taiwan to floods in the Philippines.
When did Asia Weekly launch?
Asia Weekly launched as a weekly magazine on April 16, 2007. Prior to this date, five trial issues of the magazine were printed.
Who publishes Asia Weekly?
Asia Weekly is a Hong Kong-based publication with subsidiary offices in Beijing, Shenzhen and Kuala Lumpur. The magazine was founded by the LSC Group (Legend Strategic Consultancy Ltd.) in Hong Kong in November 2006. The magazine is printed in Hong Kong by Paramount Printing Co. Ltd., and is distributed throughout Asia by the Hong Kong Foreign Press and WMG groups.

Asia Weekly is registered in Hong Kong with the "Registrar of Newspapers" in accordance with the Registration of Local Newspapers Ordinance Cap. 268. Asia Weekly's ISSN Number is 19930-4409.
Asia Weekly is also registered in Singapore, where it has been approved for distribution by the Media Development Authority. Its MICA permit number is (P) 188/09/2007.

LSG, or Legend Strategic Consultancy Ltd., is a Hong Kong-registered company headed by Jasper Becker, a prize-winning British journalist who has covered Asia for more than 20 years.
What is Jasper Becker's publishing background?
Jasper Becker has reported on Chinese and Asian affairs since 1985, in print and broadcast media. He has published six internationally acclaimed books about the region, including "Hungry Ghosts," which won the Dutch PIOMM award for Human Rights. Becker's best-known work, "The Chinese," is currently the best-selling introduction to China, its people, government and economy.
As a journalist, Jasper Becker has contributed articles to publications including National Geographic, The International Herald Tribune, The Independent, The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, The Wall Street Journal Asia, The Washington Post, The Globe and Mail, BusinessWeek and Prospect Magazine.
