You might not be able to wear it for long, but the unique snake necklace currently touring the world transcends the known limits of temptation. Commissioned to celebrate the 150th anniversary of French jewellery maker Boucheron, the serpent hints at decadence with its 20.8 karat tinted diamond tongue, says Tom Wilkins for Lussorian.com. But its body is made entirely of chocolate, a "work of art" crafted by the creative director of La Maison Du Chocolat. Its charm almost proved to be its undoing when the necklace drew such crowds in Japan that "all the flashes from the Japanese paparazzi started melting the snake." Boucheron said its chocolate temptation can be had - at a price. The snake is currently on sale for $1,185,000.

Up-and-coming jewellery designer Sarah Ho's necklaces, bracelets and earrings in her SHO line drew acclaim recently at the first London Jewellery Week, says Phong Luu in the Daily Telegraph. But perhaps more intriguingly, the Hong Kong-born, London-trained Ho is the granddaughter of Macau casino magnate Stanley Ho, notes Afsun Qureshi for Style.com. Ho designs "jewels that reflect her mother's swinging sixties style and her grandfather's casinos: big, fat cocktail rings; earrings that dangle like boudoir curtains; and playing cards as pendants and bracelets," says Qureshi.
